Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the ParseWorks mobile application ("ParseWorks," the "App," "we," "us," or "our"). It explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Overview

ParseWorks is designed as a local-first document parsing and reading tool. Users may import PDF files, enter text, run OCR, annotate content, and export documents. In general, the content you work with in the App is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers.

2. Information the App Accesses or Stores

Depending on how you use ParseWorks, the App may access or store:

  • Documents you import into the App, including PDF files and text you manually enter or paste.
  • Generated content derived from your documents, such as OCR text, word tokens, annotations, and exported output.
  • Basic app data stored locally on your device, such as projects, document names, notes, and processing results.
  • Technical data needed for app operation, such as local file references, temporary export files, and app-generated documents.

ParseWorks does not require you to create an account to use the App.

3. How Information Is Used

Information handled by the App is used to:

  • Import, display, organize, and process documents you choose to use in the App.
  • Run OCR and related parsing features on selected document pages.
  • Store your projects, notes, annotations, and processing results on your device.
  • Generate exports such as printable files or document exports you request.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.

4. Data Sharing and Transmission

We do not sell your personal information or your document content.

ParseWorks is intended to process your imported content locally on your device. We do not operate a remote document storage service for the App content covered by this policy.

The App may use internet access for limited operational purposes, such as downloading application dependencies or OCR-related resources needed for app functionality. When that happens, your document content is intended to remain processed locally unless you separately choose to export or share content using your device's built-in sharing tools.

5. Permissions and Device Access

ParseWorks may access files or file locations that you explicitly select or create through the App. This access is used only to support core features such as document import, local storage, and export.

ParseWorks may also use network access required for App functionality, including loading or updating resources used by OCR-related features.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Data created or imported in ParseWorks is generally retained on your device until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear the App's storage using your device settings.

Temporary export files created during sharing or printing may remain on your device or in app-accessible storage until they are removed by you, the App, or the operating system.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures designed to support secure handling of data within the App. However, no device, app, local storage environment, or internet transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

ParseWorks is not directed to children and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children through account registration or a hosted service.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the App after an update means the revised policy will apply going forward.
